They are lovely places with harbours and sandy beaches on the Mediterranean Sea. On the colourful market in Sanary-sur-Mer, you can get the most delicious regional specialities and on the quay the freshly caught fish is sold directly. The coastal resort of Bandol is also known for its tasteful light pink rosé wine. For the most beautiful golf course with sea view you can go to Golf de Dolce Frégate, in the hinterland of Bandol. There are also plenty of water sports options here, such as surfing, canoeing, water skiing and parasailing.
Those who want to see more of the department can take a beautiful day trip to the pleasant, photogenic city of Aix-en-Provence (approx. 81 km) or the lively port city of Marseille (approx. 70 km). A boat trip around the Calanques, or the rock formations that appear perpendicular to the sea, near the idyllic harbour town of Cassis (approx. 42 km) is an absolute must. In addition, not far from Six-Four-les-Plages is the naval city of Toulon, approx. 11 km. Besides the fine shopping streets, many restaurants and rich architectural heritage, it isn't easy to get over Mont Faron. This 584m high massif offers a beautiful view of the naval city and is easily accessible by the téléphérique that departs from the centre. The cable car takes a few minutes so that one can admire all the greenery on the way up. A day trip to flamboyant Saint-Tropez (approx. 81 km) is also possible.
