The beaches of Mortigliano and the Buche

The coast between Patresi and Chiessi, in the municipality of Marciana, is characterized by the presence of several fascinating coves, immersed in the most uncontaminated nature. Starting on foot directly from the house, you can reach, for example, the beach of Le Buche, located at the bottom of the wild valley of Colle d'Orano, dominated by a high cliff that drops sheer to the sea. About 50 meters long, it is characterized by large dark gravels and collapsed stones of various sizes. The sea is clear and crystalline and the seabed slopes gently. Being made up of large gravels, the use of beach sandals is recommended to enter the sea. The beach is not very busy, perfect for those looking for pristine and very quiet areas. The seabed is suitable for those who love snorkeling and scuba diving. Open to the north-west, it is exposed to the north and the Libeccio winds. A little further south, divided from Le Buche only by a spur of dark rock, is the beach of Mortigliano.
