Villa Gaia was built in 1780 and renovated in 2017. It is a traditional old stone-built house located in the countryside of Ano Manna 5 km from Syros Town (Hermoupolis) and 5-10 minutes from the beaches.
The renovation was made with great care and attention in order to keep the original style intact and maintain the special character of the building. You will be charmed immediately by its impressive architecture which is unique in Cyclades.
The access is very easy as it is next to the main road. The entrance, leads into the dining room. On the ground floor you can also find a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, a bathroom and a bedroom with double bed.
On the first floor are located the second living room and 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. One with double bed and one with two single beds. From this level you have access to the large veranda were the view is ecstatic. Our house can easily accommodate 6 guests in a cozy atmosphere that drives from the combination of wood and stone.
The 2.5 acres garden is impressive. It is full of trees, bougainvilleas, hibiscus and other flowers. The fence can assure a huge playground for the children and at the same time a private place for the parents or the elders who want to read a book, enjoy the nature or simply relax under the trees and the summer breeze.
The imposing building with the great history and the beautiful garden transports visitors to another era creating a unique feeling. The view is exceptional, as it is found in the brow of a slope that dominates in the Cycladic landscape. Here you can also find the barbeque area and the open parking.
Our guests have many activities to engage in, such as bicycle riding, hiking, scuba diving, wind surfing, swimming as well as going on trips all over the island, walking in the narrow streets of Ano Syros, sightseeing, joining cultural festivals. LOCAL AREA:
Syros is found almost in the centre of Cyclades Islands, 83 naval miles from Piraeus and 62 naval miles from Rafina (both ports of Athens). The travel with ferry-boat lasts roughly four hours, while with the modern speedboats it lasts 2.5 hours. If you prefer an airplane, it will only take 20 minutes.
It is surrounded eastwards from islands Andro, Tino, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, westwards from Siphnos, Serifos, Kythnos, Kea and northwards from Gyaros. From the hill of Ano Syra the visitor can see all these islands and immediately understand why Syros developed as the administrative, commercial, intellectual and cultural centre of Cyclades.
The residents population is roughly 25 thousands, Orthodox and Catholics and the capital is Hermoupolis "The Sovereign of Aegean" built on the hills that surround the harbor. Perhaps the unique classic city that has remained in Greece. Through Hermoupolis architecture you can witness the history of Syros that begins from the ancient years and leads in today.
The village of Manna is located along the public road and covers a distance of 2 kilometers. Located south of Syros capital, it begins where Hermoupolis ends. It is only 5 minutes from the center of Hermoupolis and the island’s airport.
It is also around 10 minutes from the most popular beaches of the island like Galissas, Poseidonia, Aggathopes or Delfini. An ideal location to have easy and fast access to every part of the island.
