The watchtower was erected to protect against the Saracen invasions. One cannot help but be impressed by the views of Guannutri, Giglio, Montecristo Islands, Porto S. Stefano, the hills of Mount Argentario, and the beautiful natural setting of this property.Nearby is the incredible Maremma Park which includes almost 10,000 hectares of some of the wildest and most pristine land in Italy. Visitors can walk, horseback ride, cycle or canoe their way around the park. The Spanish Tower can accommodate 12 guests with its 6 queen size bedrooms.After leaving Via Aurelia (the main highway), you will begin to see the Tower perched upon its cliff. Upon ascending the cliff one cannot help but be impressed by the wonderful view and natural beauties that surround it. A small boulevard of magnificent Agave Cacti lead to the front door creating an exotic atmosphere. Upon entering the Tower and to the immediate right is a dining area with fireplace. The décor is rustic and antiques adorn the room. Just across the hallway from the dining room, there is a fully equipped modern kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Going back downstairs and returning to the dining area, there is a small staircase which leads to the lookout tower. On the first floor is a queen bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe, sitting area, and independent bathroom with shower. A narrow staircase in the bedroom leads up to a small terrace where the owner traditionally hoists his family flag to let his friends know he's home! Make sure you ask about the music video that was filmed in this part of the house! The Spanish Tower is equipped with satellite television, internet and a direct telephone. There are two queen bedrooms with full ensuite baths, one with a bathtub and the other with a shower. Both of these rooms are off of the dining room. At the end of the hallway is a third queen bedroom with an independent bathroom with shower and tub. At the end of the hallway take the staircase to the second floor. You will enter a spacious living room where guests have a fabulous 180 degree view of the sea! The living room is furnished with comfortable lounge chairs and couches before a cozy fireplace and to the other side of the room is a rectangular antique table for 8. From the living room you have access to a splendid terrace divided into two areas, one side for dining and the other for relaxing with its deckchairs and never-to-be-forgotten views!

With deckchairs and jacuzzi, this is a magical spot to look out onto the sea, enjoy a drink or have a barbecue. The tower also has its own independent walking trail which leads directly to the sea and its own private sunbathing deck. Private boat docking is possible.

Rental of the Spanish Tower includes one staff member available 4 hours/day six days a week. Linens are changed 3 times a week. Additional services are available for extra charge including car rental, transfer to and from the airport, skippered day trips in a private motorboat to Guannutri, Giglio or Argentario, laundering and pressing of personal clothing, wind surfing, and a beach umbrella at a private beach.
