Description

Constructed on the foundations of an old manor house dating back to 1767, Galician Retreat is perched marvellously between mountains and sea. This enchanting 11-bedroom retreat generously accommodates up to 22 guests, offering an unparalleled fusion of comfort, elegance, and curated wellness. Nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Galician landscapes, this retreat promises an unforgettable escape for families, friends, or corporate gatherings.

Stepping into the villa, guests are greeted by an embracing sense of tranquillity garnered by a spacious but cosy living room with wooden-beamed ceilings, plush sofas, armchairs, and a decorative stone fireplace. Immersive common areas like this are designed for both relaxation and socialising, ensuring a lovely ambience for both conversations and quiet moments.

The adjacent dining area boasts two charmingly rustic wooden tables and a fully-equipped kitchen from which local staff prepare delicious meals throughout your stay. Of course, if you're a culinary enthusiast, there's plenty of opportunity to utilise the kitchen's range of modern appliances and ample counter space to prepare anything from a summer salad to a holiday feast for family and friends.

Galician Retreat boasts 11 beautifully appointed ensuite bedrooms, each a private oasis with original granite walls. Seven of the bedrooms feature double beds, dedicated workstations, tasteful décor and ensuite bathrooms with showers. The other four rooms boast twin single beds, dedicated workstations, personal furnishings and ensuite bathrooms with showers.

On the top floor of the house, guests will find an airy yoga room with polished timber floors and vaulted wooden ceilings. Large windows invite in floods of natural light to create a refreshing space for yoga, meditation, workouts, or just a calm space to come into yourself.

Step outside into the expansive grounds where a private pool awaits, inviting guests to cool off under the sun or enjoy an evening swim. Surrounding the pool are manicured gardens, perfect for leisurely strolls, yoga sessions, or simply basking in the natural beauty that Galicia has to offer. In addition, the villa boasts its own chapel, a dovecote, a restored granite granary, and even its own mountain spring.

Whether you're drawn to the vibrant cultural scene of Galicia or the serenity of the surrounding countryside, this 11-bedroom villa is the perfect home base for your retreat, promising an idyllic blend of comfort, style, and natural beauty. Discover a haven where memories are made, laughter resonates, and bonds are strengthened amidst the allure of Galicia's landscapes.

Well-situated in a renovated manor house originally built in 1767 and nestled between mountains and sea, Galician Retreat is located in the Rias Baixas, on the inner tip of the Ria de Arousa. The villa offers no shortage of tranquil spaces, from manicured lawns to the tiered garden, bamboo cove and mountain spring. What is more, many activities are available to explore the local area, taking in its eucalyptus forests, secret lagoons, beautiful beaches, and ocean bays.

Santiago de Compostela (a 40-minute drive) is one of the most beautiful and historical cities in Spain (it is also the end point of the famous Camino de Santiago). With its stone streets, Baroque buildings, and wonderful cuisine, there's no shortage of things to experience. Check out the charming Casco Antiguo (Old Town), a UNESCO World Heritage Site that extends from the Cathedral to the Plaza de las Platerias and be sure to stop in at one of the cafes and try some of the city's famous pastries de tarta de santiago.

In the nearby Vilagarcia de Arousa (20-minute drive), a port town renowned for its extensive beaches and delicious seafood, visitors can experience a bright mix of old and new. There's also a great range of leisure pursuits available, including golf, tennis, fishing, and cycling. The best-known beach is Compostela Beach, with its soft sand and clean waters that are a sight to see!

Pontevedra (40-minute drive) is another must-visit locale, especially if you're a fan of seafood. A Galician proverb states that Pontevedra gives water to travellers because it is believed that Pontevedra always gives back. The town boasts some of the best seafood in Spain and is particularly noteworthy for its Albariño wine.
