Well situated close to the coastal resort town of Nikiti in the province of Halkidiki, guests can venture into town to explore the Old Town’s traditional architecture, sample local pine honey, visit the Folklore Museum, or simply bask on the town’s many beaches and swim in the turquoise sea. Nikiti Beach itself is a long sandy stretch that extends for miles, and also boasts a promenade lined with restaurants.




After a day in the sun, why not have dinner and drinks under the plane tree in the Main Square of Old Nikiti? Platanos Taverna, Barcarolla, and the JUL cocktail bar surround the main square and all offer great dining options. With hundreds of fairy lights and lanterns lighting up the central tree, this is a dining experience best enjoyed when the sun goes down.




For those who like to work up an appetite before they enjoy a delicious meal, hike up to the nearby ruins of St. Sopronius Church. Today, the ruin of this early Christian basilica consists of marble columns and mosaic floors. If that jaunt gets the trekking juices flowing, then there are a great many more trails around Mount Itamos (30-minute drive), a reserved area of Sithonia.




If you’d like to venture below the turquoise surface of Halkidiki, there’s plenty of opportunity for scuba diving as the region boasts more than 20 great diving locations including reefs, walls and caverns.
