Official tours are available - although you’ll want to book in early to avoid the crowds.This buzzing and exuberant city blends modern and traditional styles, and is the perfect place to visit if you want some contrast to the sleepier atmosphere of Podstrana. Inside the impressive Roman monument of Diocletian’s Palace you’ll find dozens of bars, restaurants, and shops to visit, and down at the bustling waterfront you will find fresh seafood served daily.
In Split you’ll also find the famous Bacvice Beach - popular thanks to its long sandy shallows and its close proximity to the city centre, where you can grab a beverage or do a spot of shopping. Another fascinating attraction to visit if you’re in the area is St. Domnius Cathedral, the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world, completed in the 7th century AD.
