The charming 15th century Château de Simon, a holiday château in Aquitaine, is situated on 15 acres of private woodland with a variety of wildlife and the beautiful river Dropt running through. Go for a dip in a large swimming pool, then enjoy outdoor dining in the nearby summer house with an attached bathroom. The château is in perfect position, on the border between the Dordogne and the Lot et Garonne.
The family house, furnished with antiques, sleeps 12 in 6 comfortable bedrooms. The two first-floor master bedrooms have unique features like wooden beams and amazing views. You’ll find original ceilings, stone walls and marble fireplaces in some rooms, including the grand salon. Walk out to the gardens from the drawing room's French doors.
When you’re ready to explore the area, you are near several medieval towns and castles, including a market town and Eymet, which has a large English-speaking population. Wine lovers can visit the area’s many vineyards, including St. Emilion, Monbazillac and Cahors appellations. Seek out nearby man-made lakes with sandy beaches for swimming and water sports.
