Casale Morus Alba is a traditional Tuscan farmhouse with beautiful modernised interiors set amongst tranquil green fields. With numerous beaches and medieval villages to visit in a 20km radius it is hard to imagine a more idyllic holiday location. This spacious villa can accommodate up to 21 guests if utilising the available extra beds and can also be divided into 2 apartments. Opting to divide the 2 floors is a good choice for those travelling in 2 families or groups who may prefer some privacy. Your whole group can still spend plenty of time together when you wish to, enjoying meals together or gathering outdoors in the vast garden. The home is relaxing and elegant and you will find yourself surrounded by period features, quality furnishings and gorgeous rural views from every window. There is room for everyone to unwind in the 8 bedrooms, which each have an en-suite bathroom, plus those who want to keep little ones near can choose to have an additional bed added to their room. You can head outdoors to the roof terrace from the first floor or the large garden from the ground floor. This home and garden are great spaces for special occasions, you can make memories together dining on the pretty covered terraces as the sun goes down over the hills. During the day the kids can explore the grounds as you lounge by the pool with a glass of local wine! When you need to pop out for some ingredients for dinner then you can head to the nearest supermarket which is 11km away or choose from a number of stunning little villages nearby. A few worth noting are Casale Marittimo with a good selection of restaurants and shops, Montescudaio which is a spectacular 1000-year-old village, and Bibonna, a historic village close to a range of scenic walking routes. Each of these villages is under 15km away from the villa! You won’t have to travel far either to discover some of Tuscany’s amazing beaches with a Blue Flag sandy beach just 20km away at Marina di Bibbona or if you would like to try out some water sports head to Cecina beach which is also 22km away in a lovely seaside town. There are also lots of fantastic towns and cities to visit in this area, including Volterra which is 30km away, San Gimignano which is 60km away and Siena, 83km away!
Sitting in an idyllic rural location and yet in easy reach of the sweeping Etruscan coastline and lots of charming historic villages, Casale Morus Alba is a wonderful place to stay for a holiday. The surrounding countryside is so inviting you will want to spend lots of time outdoors soaking in the staggering views and of course the sun! If you want to explore walking routes, head out on bike rides or even traverse the hills on horseback then why not visit Bibbona nature reserve. The reserve spans 1600 hectares of protected land and is around 5km away from the villa. If your preferred idea of getting out in nature is visiting the local vineyards then you are in luck as there are some wonderful vineyards within a 25km radius. Visit a family run vineyard such as Tenuta San Guido where you can take a tour, taste the famous Tuscan wines and take some bottles back with you for dinner. This area is also renowned for its gorgeous, unspoilt beaches and the closest are just over 20km away. Try surfing and snorkelling at Cecina beach or relax on the Blue Flag Marina di Bibbona which is a brilliant family beach. When you want to immerse yourself in the local history and culture then you do not have to travel far to visit some of the pretty villages where you can explore the sights and pop out for something to eat. Casale Marittimo is just 11km away and is one of the nearest villages, this is a great place to have nearby for picking up some groceries or for a meal in one of the numerous restaurants. Also nearby is Montescudaio, which is 12km away. Montescudaio is an ancient town which has retained all of its old charm and architecture, make sure to visit the impressive medieval churches such as the Church of Santa Maria Assunta as well as the staggering castle and local museum. The village is also well-known for its bread so make sure to nip into a bakery or a café whilst visiting. Bibbona is another village worth seeing and is 15km away. This is an adorable village filled with Etruscan and Roman attractions and churches adorned with art works hailing from the middle-ages. In the warmer months you can often see a procession based on local folklore with performers wearing traditional costumes. There are countless other places to visit in driving distance; including Castagneto Carducci (32km away), San Gimignano (60km away) Volterra (30km away) and even Florence (110km away).
